U.S., Japan scholars welcome East China Sea code of conduct proposal

President Ma Ying-jeou's proposal for a code of conduct in the East China Sea was welcomed by U.S. and Japanese scholars Thursday, with some of them urging countries in the region to follow Taiwan's lead in resolving disputes through peaceful means.
