Taipei to hold second Nuit Blanche event

Taipei, Oct. 6 (CNA) Taipei will hold its second Nuit Blanche event this weekend, highlighting exhibitions, contemporary art, performance, multimedia projections, concerts, dance and interactive events.

Organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and several European economic and trade offices in Taipei, the free, all-night arts festival will run from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday at multiple locations linking together the Gongguan shopping area, the Wen-Ro-Ting commercial district, the Hakka Cultural Park and National Taiwan University, according to the department.

Nuit Blanche, which originated in Paris in 2002, is held on the first Saturday night of October each year. Entry is free.

The event now takes place in over 120 capitals around the world. Taipei first joined the celebration in 2016.

The Taipei City Police Department warned drivers that traffic controls will be in place on Roosevelt Road Section 3, and Xinhai Road, Section 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
