Cathay Financial terminates deal to acquire bank in Malaysia

Cathay Financial Holding Co., one of the largest financial institutions in Taiwan, said Wednesday that it has terminated an agreement to acquire the Canada-based Bank of Nova Scotia's banking assets in Malaysia.
