Proposed geothermal power plant to harness renewable volcanic energy

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said Tuesday that it will begin a resource development plan to harness geothermal energy from the Tatun Volcano Group by building a station in New Taipei's Jinshan District that could generate up to 68.5 million kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity per year.
