Taipei, Nov. 12 (CNA) Taiwan shuttlers Lee Jhe-huei (李哲輝) and Yang Po-hsuan (楊博軒) defeated another Taiwanese team on Sunday to win the men's doubles competition at the 2023 Korea Masters.

Lee and Yang swept the world No. 11 pairing, Tokyo Olympics gold medalists Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟) and Lee Yang (李洋), 21-17, 21-19 in a quick 35-minute match at the Gwangju Women's University Stadium in Gwangju, South Korea.

After winning the first game by a comfortable four-point margin, Lee and Yang went on the offensive in the second frame, jumping out to an early 9-3 lead.

Wang and Lee were able to rally back into contention, breaking two match points to bring the score to 19-20, but ultimately dropped the final point to hand the game and the match to Lee and Yang.

The victory on Sunday is the duo's first first-place finish in a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series event since winning the Lingshui China Masters in March 2019.
