
Taipei, Feb. 21 (CNA) A cold air mass is forecast to bring rain to parts of northern and eastern Taiwan starting Saturday night, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said Friday.
Temperature lows on Friday night to early Saturday morning will hover at around 14-15 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan and 15-17 degrees in central and southern areas, CWA forecaster Tseng Chao-cheng (曾昭誠) said.
Daytime highs on Saturday will be around 17-18 degrees in the north and reach 20-25 degrees in the central and southern parts of Taiwan, he added.
After the cold air mass arrives in Taiwan, its influence will continue until Tuesday daytime, when sunny to cloudy skies and highs over 20 degrees will return across the island, Tseng said.
Temperature lows from Saturday night to Tuesday will be 13-14 degrees, with Monday and early Tuesday morning expected to be the coldest, Tseng said.
Daytime highs will hover at around 14-16 degrees in northern Taiwan and around 18-19 degrees in eastern Taiwan. Meanwhile, central and southern regions will still experience daytime temperatures over 20 degrees, according to the CWA.
