Taipei, Dec. 14 (CNA) Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. (THSRC) said Thursday that sales of reserved seat tickets for eight additional services running between Dec. 29, 2023 and Jan. 2 2024 will open at midnight Saturday.
In a statement, the THSRC said it had decided to run eight additional services amid high demand for tickets on 105 specially scheduled trains, bookings for which opened on Dec. 1.
According to THSRC, a total of 740 regular timetabled trains as well as an extra 53 southbound and 60 northbound services will run between Dec. 29 and Jan. 2 to meet holiday demand.
Meanwhile, reserved seat tickets for an extra 12 services between Jan. 5 and 7 will also go on sale at midnight on Saturday, THSRC said.
The company added that travel advice for nonreserved tickets, which can only be purchased on the day of travel, would be shown on the homepage of its website during the holiday period.
Under its color-coded system, green indicates wait times of under 30 minutes, yellow more than 30 minutes, and red more than 60 minutes, according to THSRC.
