Company fined NT$2.4 million for fatal factory fire in Pingtung

The operator of a factory in Pingtung County where a fire and subsequent explosions Friday left at least nine people dead, was fined NT$2.4 million (US$74,598) for violations of related statutory regulations, including storing excess flammable materials in the workplace, the county government said Monday.
