Ex-NCC official handed 6-month jail term over Yushan forest fire

The Nantou District Court on Monday handed former senior National Communications Council (NCC) official Joseph Chiao (喬建中) a six-month prison sentence over his role in starting an 80-hectare forest fire during a 2021 camping trip in Yushan National Park.
