Local governments urged to retime traffic signals after child's death

City and county governments around Taiwan should retime traffic signals to create a safer environment for pedestrians, Transport Minister Wang Kwo-tsai (王國材) said Wednesday, following the death of a toddler crossing a pedestrian crosswalk with her mother in Tainan two days earlier.
