Taiwan's government on Tuesday announced it has approved Japan's request for a donation of five Taiwan cypress trees in order to provide timber for the rebuilding of Okinawa's Shuri Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was razed to the ground in a 2019 fire.
