Randall Schriver, the U.S. assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific security affairs, said Tuesday that Taiwan is an important contributor to the "free, open concepts" of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy, and it is to the benefit of the United States to think how to continue its non-diplomatic relations with Taiwan creatively.
