Taipei, Jan. 8 (CNA) The U.S. dollar rose sharply against the Taiwan dollar Wednesday, gaining NT$0.144 to close at NT$32.883.
Turnover totaled US$1.081 billion during the trading session.
The greenback opened at NT$32.760, and moved between NT$32.750 and NT$32.898 before the close.
