The number of furloughed workers on formal unpaid leave programs in the local manufacturing sector rose more than 1,200 in one week as the exports-oriented sector continued to be impacted by the weakening global economy, which led to a fall in orders, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) said Tuesday.
