Myanmar-Taiwanese director Midi Z speaks about film
Chao Te-Yin (趙德胤), known by his English name Midi Z, is a 33-year-old Myanmar-born Taiwanese film director who has already made several films about his birth country. His 2014 film Ice Poison was selected as the Taiwan’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards. Now, the young director has achieved another milestone - on November 7, his latest film The Road to Mandalay was screened in his home country for the first time. He spoke to CNA about the making of the film that depicts Burmese migrants working in Thailand.
