Taipei temperature soars to 37.8 degrees, 2014 record high

The mercury in Taipei soared to 37.8 degrees Celsius at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, a record high for this year, as Taiwan electricity reserves fell to a low level for the year in the early afternoon.
