The renaming of Japan's representative office in Taiwan to the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association is aimed at advancing already close Japan-Taiwan relations, said Mikio Numata, Japan's representative to Taiwan, at Tuesday's unveiling ceremony of the new name plaque.
