Ma-Xi meeting symbolic of improved cross-strait ties: U.S. congressman

The unprecedented meeting between President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping (習近平) last weekend was symbolic of improved relations across the Taiwan Strait, visiting U.S. congressman Matt Salmon said Tuesday in Taipei.
