High temperatures strain power supply in Taiwan

Electricity consumption spiked in Taiwan on Wednesday, triggering a low reserve warning, as temperatures soared past 35 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country, according to the state-owned Taiwan Power Company (Taipower).
