Taiwan court to rule on same-sex marriage

05/20 14:00

Taiwan’s Constitutional Court is reviewing for the first time whether the current ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. It announced recently that it will issue its decision on May 24. The ruling is being closely watched by both those in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage and those against, not only in Taiwan but also elsewhere in Asia. If Taiwan legalizes same-sex marriage, it will be the first country in Asia to do so.
