ROC top court rules in favor of same-sex marriage

It's been a decades-long battle, but on May 24, Taiwan's LGBT community won a victory they had long been waiting for. The Constitutional Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage, finding current marriage laws restricting such marriages unconstitutional. It ordered that laws be amended within 2 years to allow same-sex couples to get married and to give them equal rights.
