Francis So introduces Chaucer’s “The Canterbury Tales” and his new Chinese translation

Over six centuries after Geoffrey Chaucer -- the "Father of English Literature" -- completed "The Canterbury Tales," retired scholar Francis So (蘇其康) released the first comprehensive Chinese rendering of the work by a Taiwanese translator in October 2025. In a late-November interview with CNA, So shared his motivations for breathing new life into this English classic and discussed his approach to the text.
