Taipei stages indiscriminate attack response drill

A drill simulating emergency services responding to an indiscriminate attack was carried out at Taipei Main Station Thursday afternoon, with Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) overseeing the exercise and expressing satisfaction with its overall conduct. The exercise follows a deadly knife attack in Taipei on Dec. 19 last year, which left four people dead, including the perpetrator. Chiang said the incident highlighted the importance of raising public awareness of civil defense measures and called for strengthened joint safety drills.
