Taipei, Jan. 19 (CNA) Three people have been reported injured in a shoot-out between police and a man Monday at Taichung Airport in central Taiwan, but details including the cause of the confrontation were not immediately available.

The injured were a man, an unrelated woman, and a police officer, all of whom were brought to nearby Tungs' Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital, according to police.

Police said they will hold a briefing about the situation later in the day, but denied media speculation that the incident was related to Chen Fu-hsiang (陳福祥), the fugitive suspected of shooting two men at a parking lot in Ximending, Taipei earlier this month.
