Taipei, July 25 (CNA) National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar LeBron James gave away nearly everything he had to some of the 2,000 excited fans attending a basketball event Friday night, leaving with nothing more than a pair of socks and tights.
Attending a basketball camp encouraging aspiring young players in Taiwan to build their bonds with basketball, James appeared friendly with the players and took an active role in coaching them.
The fans were lucky enough to get their share when the Cleveland Cavaliers' forward began to give away almost everything he had on his person at the end of the event.
He first gave away the basketball used in the game, then awarded young fans with basketballs he autographed.
Without warning, the 29-year-old star took off his T-shirt, signed it, and gave it to a female fan holding a young child.
Just before leaving, James threw his cap into the crowd, followed by autographed shoes and shorts.
Currently on a two-day visit of Taiwan, James has already been to Beijing and Guangzhou in China, Hong Kong, and Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan.
"King James" shared his passion for the game with another group of youth players earlier in the day, encouraging them to always set a goal as motivation to grow on the court.
The former Miami Heat player, who recently made an emotional return to the Cavaliers, urged the young players to not be afraid of obstacles because they provide opportunities for people to better themselves.
"Don't worry about mistakes," he said. "We all make mistakes, and you know you can live with it."
