DPP head rejects call to 'freeze' independence platform

Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chairman Su Tseng-chang on Friday dismissed a party heavyweight's proposal to freeze its platform on Taiwan independence as Beijing quickly gave a positive response to the call.
