China upsets Taiwan with new flight paths
Beijing announced plans mid-January to begin using four new flight paths on March 5th. But the problem for Taiwan, according to its Civil Aeronautics Administration, is that they are too close to the Taipei Flight Information Region. The routes are only 7.8 kilometers from the median line of the Taiwan Strait at the closest distance. U.S. State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf weighed in when asked about the situation on Jan. 16.
