Taipei, Aug. 28 (CNA) Most convenient store chains in the greater Taipei area said on Friday that they will not sell EasyCards, stored value cards used for taking the subway, buses and other transportation, that feature Japanese porn star Yui Hatano.

7-Eleven and FamilyMart announced that they have already decided to not sell EasyCards featuring the porn star because the public has different opinions about this issue.

Hi-Life convenience store chain meanwhile announced that it will decide whether or not to sell the cards next week.

OK Mart has decided not to sell the cards for now, but it might change its decision depending on the demand in the market.

The EasyCard Corporation announced recently it will sell a new version of the EasyCard that will feature Hatano. Despite criticism from some sectors of the public, it stood by its decision.

The EasyCard is a contactless smartcard system operated by the EasyCard Corporation. It is used to pay for the Taipei MRT (subway), buses, and other public transport services in Taipei. It is also used at convenience stores, department stores, supermarkets, taxis, and other retailers to make payments.
