Taiwan's Wu Tung-lin defeated in Santiago ATP Challenger final

Taipei, March 11 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis player Wu Tung-lin (吳東霖) lost to Hugo Dellien of Bolivia in the final of the men's singles at the ATP Santiago Challenger in Chile on Sunday.

In his first Challenger final, Wu, 20, was overpowered by World No. 87 Dellien, 7-5, 6-7 (1) and 1-6.

The previous day, Wu upset Pablo Andujar-Alba of Spain, the top seed of the ATP Challenger 80 clay-court event, scoring a win for the first time against a player ranked among the world's top 100.

After the final match, Wu's world ranking will rise from 363 to 308, the highest in his career.

Earlier in the season, Wu clinched his first singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour at the Sharm El Sheikh.
