Taiwan's team, composed of students from Taipei Jingmei Girls High School, lost to the eventual gold medal winner, Gonten of Switzerland, 3-0 in the competition's semifinal round before defeating TTV Vechtlust in the bronze medal tussle by the same score.
In the 11 team competition, there were five teams from Switzerland, and one team each from Taiwan, the United States, China, Belgium, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
The Taiwanese team, which took golds in the women's 560 kg and 520 kg categories at the TWIF European Outdoor Championships in the United Kingdom last September, will also be competing in the women's 500 kg category and join with some men in the mixed 600 kg category.
Since 2010, the team has collected 10 golds from a variety of competitions in Asia and Europe, and it won the indoor gold medal in the 520 kg category at the 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung.
