Taipei, Aug. 25 (CNA) Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo met with a group of local high school basketball players Saturday and encouraged them to practice as much as possible because that is the only way to become a better player.

The 26-year-old Rondo told the players from Taiwan's High School Basketball League that there are no shortcuts on the basketball court and that the best way to become a great player is to "keep practicing."

Rondo also participated in a training session with the young players.

Rondo arrived in Taiwan early Saturday as a spokesman for the Red Bull King of the Rock in Taiwan, a one-on-one basketball tournament. He is also scheduled to attend the final of the tournament at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall on Sunday.
