London, Aug. 9 (CNA) Taiwanese taekwondo athlete Tseng Li-cheng bagged Taiwan's second medal of the 2012 Olympic Games Thursday, taking bronze in the women's under 57-kilogram weight event.

Tseng, 25, beat Suvi Mikkonen of Finland 14-2 to clinch a bronze medal.

Earlier in the day, Tseng, the category's top seed, lost to Jade Jones of Britain 6-10 in a tense semifinal.

Jones later defeated China's Hou Yuzhuo 6-4 in a cagey final to bag the U.K.'s first ever Olympic gold medal in the combat sport.
