Taipei, Aug. 9 (CNA) Taiwanese taekwondo athlete Tseng Li-cheng defeated Rangsiya Nisaisom of Thailand 4-1 in the preliminary round of the women's taekwondo 57-kg category Thursday at the London Olympics.
Tseng, seeded first, dominated the match and only allowed a one-point kick by the 18-year-old Nisaisom in the third and final round of the match.
The 25 year-old Tseng was set to compete in the quarterfinals later that same day.
Tseng is Taiwan's last medal hopeful remaining in this year's Olympics. Weightlifter Hsu Shu-ching won the country's only medal so far -- a silver -- in the women's 53kg weightlifting event July 29.
