Taipei, Aug. 7 (CNA) Jeremy Lin, the first NBA star of Taiwanese descent, left Taiwan for Beijing Tuesday, after his four-day visit. Lin made two public appearances, including one in which he met his fans and a news conference in Taipei over the weekend, during his stay in Taiwan.
Apart from this, he maintained a low profile during his dinner with his relatives in Taiwan Sunday and while visiting a summer camp in Hsinchu, northern Taiwan Monday.
Lin will return to Taiwan at the end of the month to attend a four-day training camp for 120 young players. He will then attend an event sponsored by a car maker Sept. 1 and an evangelical event Sept. 2.
Lin, whose meteoric rise early this year with the New York Knicks attracted widespread attention, signed a three-year, US$25 million contract with the Houston Rockets last month after the Knicks failed to match the offer.
The new NBA season will start Oct. 30, according to the NBA website.
