Kapolei, Hawaii, April 21 (CNA) Japan's Ai Miyazato won the LPGA LOTTE Championship in Honolulu Saturday, carding a 12-under 276, while world No. 1 Yani Tseng of Taiwan shot a total of 284 to tie for 10th, missing the chance for her 4th LPGA title of this year.
Miyazato birdied three of the last six holes for a 2-under 70 and a four-stroke lead against Azahara Munoz of Spain and Meena Lee of South Korea to bag her 8th LPGA title, earning US$255,000.
She finished the first three rounds with 71, 65, and 70 to take a three-stroke lead into the final round.
Lee carded 70 in the final round to tie for 2nd with Munoz, who finished with an 8-under 280.
Meanwhile, Tseng managed to make a tie for 4th a day earlier, finishing the final round with a 2-over 74 and tying for 10th at 4 under, which earned her US$33,522.
Candie Kung of Taiwan shot a 2-under 70 in the final round to tie for 18th with a 2-under 286.
