Human rights deteriorating in China: NGO

China has unleashed an extraordinary assault on basic human rights and their defenders with a ferocity unseen in recent years since Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平) has assumed power, according to an annual report issued Friday by a U.S. non- government organization that advocates human rights.
