Taipei, Aug. 8 (CNA) A doctor from National Taiwan University Hospital, one of Taiwan's most prestigious health care institutions, was found dead Wednesday morning, according to a statement released by the hospital.
The statement, however, did not give the name of the doctor or details about how and where the physician died.
The doctor, who also teaches at National Taiwan University's Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, "was without vital signs when found" at about 11 a.m., the statement said.
The doctor died after emergency treatment failed, the statement said.
The news caused media attention, with many people questioning whether overwork was the cause of the doctor's death.
