Taipei, July 25 (CNA) Delta Electronics Foundation has donated LED lighting equipment to schools and community centers in a remote area of northern Thailand to help solve lighting problems there, an executive said Wednesday.

The donation is expected to reduce the electricity bills at those facilities by 50 percent, said Hsu Wei-min, vice president at Taida Electronics Co., a subsidiary of Delta Electronics Inc., a Taiwan-based power management system supplier

The company gave 150 LED lighting kits manufactured by Delta, to community centers and an elementary school in Chiang Mai and centers in Chiang Rai, he said.

The donation, a joint effort by Delta and Taida, has helped improve the learning environment for children and alleviate the problem of inadequate lighting in that part of the country, Hsu said.
