Most cities decide against closing schools, offices Thursday

Taipei, June 20 (CNA) Schools and public offices in most cities and counties throughout Taiwan will not be closed Thursday despite the passage of Tropical Storm Talim, a government website indicated Wednesday night.

The following is a list of local governments' decisions regarding office and school closures as of 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Executive Yuan's Directorate-General of Personnel Administration website (http://www.cpa.gov.tw/).

In northern Taiwan:
Taipei City: No closure of offices or schools
New Taipei City: No closure of offices or schools
Keelung City: No closure of offices or schools
Taoyuan County: No closure of offices or schools
Hsinchu County: No closure of offices or schools (Jianshih Township and Wufong Township: offices and schools closed)
Hsinchu City: No closure of offices or schools

In central Taiwan:
Miaoli County: No closure of offices or schools
Taichung City: No closure of offices or schools (Heping District: offices and schools closed)
Changhua County: No closure of offices or schools
Yunlin County: No closure of offices or schools
Nantou County: No closure of offices or schools

In southern Taiwan:
Chiayi County: No closure of offices or schools (Alishan Township: offices and schools closed)
Chiayi City: No closure of offices or schools
Tainan City: No closure of offices or schools
Kaohsiung City: No closure of offices or schools (Liouguei District, Jiasian District, Maolin District, Taoyuan District and Namasha District: offices and schools closed)
Pingtung County: No closure of offices or schools

In eastern Taiwan:
Yilan County: No closure of offices or schools
Hualien County: No closure of offices or schools
Taitung County: No closure of offices or schools

In outlying areas:
Penghu County: No closure of offices or schools
Kinmen County: No closure of offices or schools
Lienchiang County: No closure of offices or schools
