Taipei, May 17 (CNA) The electronics sector remains the top career choice among young people in Taiwan, according an online survey released by the New Taipei City Labor Affairs Department on Thursday.
The survey found that 34.62 percent of young adults in Taiwan are most interested in working in industries related to electronics, information and communications.
Just over 19 percent of the respondents said they want to work as professionals in advertising, public relations, or design. Nearly 20 percent said they are currently working in service industries.

An equal percentage of respondents (11.54 percent) cited commuting distance or career prospect as their main consideration when choosing a job.
Kao Pao-hua, director of the city's Department of Labor Affairs, said the survey showed that young people are interested in working in the electronics industry and holding a position that would allow them to use their creativity.
She suggested that young people identify their interests, specialties and abilities before seeking a job.
