Taipei, Aug. 14 (CNA) Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin received a hearty welcome from a crowd of screaming fans Wednesday when he arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Lin happily interacted with his fans. Besides thanking them for getting up early to greet him, Lin gave them mini basketballs as gifts.
During his weeklong visit, Lin, the first NBA player of Taiwanese descent, will attend charity and endorsement events arranged by his sponsors, as well as take part in an evangelical gathering Aug. 18.
The 24-year-old Harvard graduate and his friend, Rockets forward Chandler Parsons, will also co-host a basketball camp for Taiwanese high school and college students Aug. 18-20.
He is scheduled to leave Taiwan for China Aug. 21.
