Berlin, May 6 (CNA) Taiwanese-German pianist Anny Hwang is to perform with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra at the Festival International Echternach in Luxembourg June 14.

The talented 22-year-old told CNA Saturday that she feels honored to be asked to perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the renowned orchestra at the annual musical event, which was founded in 1975.

Hwang, whose father emigrated to Germany from Taiwan, said the influences of the two cultures -- Taiwanese and German -- have inspired her musical journey, in terms of both performing and composition.

She said she also hopes to perform with Taiwanese orchestras in the future.

Hwang, who began to show an interest in music and received her first piano lessons from her mother at the age of 3, has been named by German media as a cultural ambassador for Germany's Saarland because of her outstanding performances.

At the age of 16, she performed as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine in Kiev.
