Taipei, July 4 (CNA) Chiu Hsin-ta, a new graduate from a master's degree program at National Taiwan University, has won the "dream job" contest in Taiwan from a field of 11,667 competitors.
It means that Chiu, 27, will serve as a "B&B Ambassador" on a six-month tour of Taiwan, during which he will stay at 100 bed-and-breakfast (B&B) establishments.
He will be required to take photos and write reviews of all the B&Bs and post them on the blog pages of East BnB, a Chinese-language travel website, said the organizers of The "Round-Taiwan Dreamer" contest.
On completion of the job, he will be paid six months' salary amounting to NT$1.5 million (US$50,300), they said. Chiu, a recent NTU graduate in the field of physiology, said his father will accompany him on the tour. He said he will use his own words and photos taken by his father, who is an amateur photographer, to broadcast Taiwan's beauty to the world.
The contest was held jointly by East BnB and 1111 Job Bank.
