Taipei, April 28 (CNA) Rainy weather is expected to continue around Taiwan Saturday due to a high level of moisture still affecting the country, the Central Weather Bureau said that day.

Parts of northern, central, southern and northeastern Taiwan and its outlying islands of Kinmen are likely to see heavy or extremely heavy rainfall, the bureau said.

It cautioned people in these areas to pay attention to sudden downpours, lightning, strong winds and rising river water levels, as well as rock-falls and landslides if they are in mountain areas.

Temperatures, however, are likely to return to a relatively warmer level as the present front moves away, with temperatures expected to reach a high of 27 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan and between 29 and 31 degrees in central, southern and eastern Taiwan, the bureau said.

Rainy weather is forecasted to last into next week, with central and southern Taiwan seeing intermittent rain and northern and northeastern Taiwan seeing afternoon thunder showers on Monday.

Rainfall will be more concentrated in the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday around Taiwan, and the arrival of a front on Thursday and Friday will bring showers and thunderstorms to areas all around the country, said the bureau.
