Japan hopeful Taiwan will cancel planned rules on food imports

Japan reiterated Tuesday its position and hope that Taiwan will cancel plans to tighten regulations on Japanese food imports, after the Taiwanese government decided earlier in the day that the new regulations will be enforced from May 15 as scheduled.
