U.S. delighted to see cross-strait talks on problem flight routes

Taipei, Jan. 18 (CNA) Beijing's latest revelation that it is willing to hold discussions with Taiwan over its plan to open four flight routes close to the median line of the Taiwan Strait, is "a new development" in the controversy, while Washington said it is pleased to see the two parties talk, a Taiwanese foreign affairs official said Sunday.
