DPP to back Ko rather than nominate own candidate for Taipei mayor

The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) reached an agreement with National Taiwan University Hospital physician Ko Wen-je on Monday to back his independent bid for Taipei mayor rather than nominate its own candidate in the November election.
