Taipei, April 26 (CNA) Serbia has simplified its visa application procedure for Taiwan nationals to allow same-day processing, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs official said Thursday.
The new procedure was implemented early this month, according to James Lee, director-general of the Department of European Affairs.
Taiwan nationals applying for a Serbian visa must hold a passport that is valid for at least 90 days from the date of visa issuance, Lee said.
The procedure involves completing an application form, accompanied by a photo, a copy of round-trip tickets, and hotel reservation information or a letter of invitation from a Serbian national, he said.
Once the required documents have been submitted, applicants can obtain a multiple entry visa the same day, valid for a period of six-months, Lee said.
Previously, the application process for Taiwan nationals seeking visas to Balkan countries was quite complicated and often took as long as six weeks, he said.
The new arrangement was achieved after a whole year of negotiations with the Serbian government, Lee said.
