Taipei, June 20 (CNA) The water supply to four districts in Taichung City will be shut off for 23 hours on June 27, starting from 10 a.m., for construction work on a new pipeline, Taiwan Water Corp. said Wednesday.

The work is part of an urban land consolidation project in Taichung and the suspension will affect some 24,000 households in the city's West, South, Nantun and Wuri districts, the company said in a statement.

It said 21,000 households will have no water supply for 23 hours, while 3,000 households will have a supply but at low pressure.

The water will be turned on again at 9 a.m. on June 28 but households located at the end of the supply lines or on the upper floors of high rise buildings might have to wait a few more hours, the company said.
