Taipei, Sept. 25 (CNA) Two lucky consumers who spent less than NT$50 (US$1.65) on beverages at convenience stores are each entitled to claim a NT$10 million special prize in the July-August uniform invoice lottery, a statement by a local convenience chain said Monday.

According to Family Mart, both winning invoices with the winning number 33612092 came from its convenience store chain in New Taipei's Yunghe District.

Family Mart said it issued the two invoices that won the special prize, including a customer who spent NT$45 on drinks and another patron who spent just NT$32.

The company said the chain also issued two invoices that received the NT$2 million grand prize for the number 06840705.

The two NT$2 million invoices were issued by Family Mart stores in New Taipei's Sanchong District.

One receipt was for a NT$23 purchase and the other for NT$84, the company said.

Meanwhile, 7-Eleven, another major convenience store chain, also stated that it also issued two invoices that received the NT$2 million grand prize, noting that the purchases were made in Taoyuan and in Taipei's Da'an District.

To collect their prizes, winners are required to take the winning receipts and their ID card to any post office by Jan. 5, 2018.

The uniform invoice lottery system, which draws winning numbers every two months, was created to encourage consumers to collect sales invoices as part of the Finance Ministry's efforts to prevent tax evasion by retailers.
